The Harvest Continues – Paul Bailey’s Apprenticeship

Jesus was a developer of kingdom workers. On one occasion (Luke 10:1-16) he appointed and sent out 72 disciples, two by two, to announce that the kingdom of God was near and to bring healing to the people they were sent to. These workers were important to his purposes and he acknowledged prior to sending them that:
‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few…’ Luke 10:2
So it is cause for celebration when people step up to become ‘harvest workers.’ This was recently on display in Melbourne as the Melbourne Navs ‘graduated’ Paul Bailey from The Navigators’ Ministry Apprenticeship Program. This two-year training opportunity is designed to help develop people in practical ministry skills (through hands-on ministry experience) while providing in-depth Scriptural studies. It is also a place where they can discern God’s leading for future investment of their lives in mission.
Though Paul’s apprenticeship required a degree of flexibility due to covid limitations, he creatively tried new things to engage with students at Monash University. He was able to befriend people from many different backgrounds and has ongoing ministry among them. Paul has decided by faith to continue in student ministry full time among students.
We praise God for the work He has done in Paul’s life and for raising up another Kingdom worker in Melbourne.
