You are Needed for the Journey

It’s full speed ahead, and I’m not sure if we’ve filled up the tank with enough fuel!
The train tracks: Monash University, and open for service; the Train: Monash Navs, and it has begun its journey. “ALL ABOARD!” was called at our first stop of O-week, and now students are getting settled into different carriages. Where will they sit, and what will they study?
As these questions get asked and answered, and we begin to walk through the next steps of many discipleship journeys – with some just beginning a new one – we are excited, but wonder if we’ve prepared enough for the journey.
Amidst this crazy and chaotic beginning, we’re finding the spiritual warfare to be intense. We’re wrestling with students’ schedules, time, desires, and connections, all while warding off those who are preaching a false gospel on campus – like charlatans selling fake tickets to the train to life, which is the gospel of Jesus by FAITH ALONE.
You. Are. Needed.
If we’re going to get this train to the end of the year with the precious cargo inside safe and growing, we’re going to need fuel. Just like a train needs fuel to keep moving, we need your prayers to power us through the trials, afflictions, worries, concerns, and ups and downs we are facing and will continue to face. Prayer is what will keep us going when the road gets tough.
The gospel is advancing, students are growing, others (new students) are hopping on the train, and labourers are being raised up in our midst. But ultimately, it’s going to take unwavering, persistent and unceasing prayer to carry us through, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We need your prayer:
- Please pray for the seeds of the gospel that have been planted, that it would bear good fruit. (1 Cor 3:6-9, Jn 15:5)
- Please pray Ephesians 6:10-18 for all students and ours specifically. There are groups preaching a false gospel on campus and leading astray young believers and seekers.
- Pray for strength, perseverance and zeal for our student labourers. They have been working hard in trying to get Bible studies started with friends and acquaintances, but it hasn’t been easy so far. (1 Cor 15:58)
- Pray for our Campus Intern Team (Lashan, Nick & Jie Ling) – that they would lead through servanthood and help to cultivate a vision of discipleship amongst their peers. (2 Tim 2:2, Matt 28:18-20)
- Pray that the Lord would give me an extra portion of His grace. I am often in tension between joy and awe whilst feeling inadequate and overwhelmed with the task ahead. The carriages are filling up, yet I often feel I don’t know how to drive the train.
While we’re focused on the journey ahead, there’s so much more to share about the last five months – stories of growth, challenges and the incredible work God has been doing. I look forward to sending you a full update soon, and trust me, you won’t want to miss it. Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we press forward. The adventure is just beginning, and we’re so grateful to have you along for the ride!
Thanking you so much in advance for your partnership in the gospel!
