People of Passion
The early followers of Jesus were called ‘people of the way’. This was long before the term ‘Christian’ was coined. Perhaps it came from Jesus’ words ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life’ (John 14:6). People of Passion* is here to help you on your way, following Jesus, The Way. It was developed by Doug Utley, Barbara Brown and Kathie Clarke from the HighQuest discipleship series (www.highquest.info – used with permission). People of Passion comes with a General Introduction (essential reading) followed by downloads of each volume to use in your group.
People of Passion is a way of maintaining your passion for God and His growing Kingdom for the rest of your life.
The People of Passion resource is for a group of four to six people who maintain confidentiality and are listening to God as they read the scriptures daily to discern what God is saying to them as individuals and as a group. The group would meet weekly to share and discuss, pray with one another and hold each other to be faithful in this journey.
The goals of People of Passion are: Knowing God Deeply, Reflecting Christ Naturally and Sharing Christ Intentionally.
There are three volumes of scripture readings, each of 10-12 weeks, which amplify each goal.
The first volume of Knowing God Deeply – Knowing God and Knowing Myself (ecopy or print) is now available. Once each volume has been released, you will find the full list on our dedicated People of Passion page.
Begin with People of Passion – General Introduction to understand how to use this discipleship tool. You can download it from the People of Passion page or from the Downloads tab of our Resources page.
Create a People of Passion group and be ready to abound in your passion for God and your passion to share God with others.
