She said “Amen”

Phillip met Christ many years ago, and through his journey also met and became firm friends with some of our Navigator staff such as Rob Bolton and Ram Marrero. This week, he shared a heart-warming story of how the Lord can change hearts!

Phillip’s aunt is 93 years old and lives in a nursing home. He has been sharing Christ with her for some time and, about three months ago, left her a ‘Free Gift’ tract after explaining it.

Early this month (August), he drove six hours to visit with her at the nursing home and they took a nice long drive the following day. He shared many things with her, and she confessed to him that she believed she had “been a bit of a nasty person at times and hardhearted.”

Claiming Jeremiah 32:27: ‘Behold I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is anything too hard for me’, Phillip asked the Lord to give her the grace to be saved and the faith to believe, before he left for home that afternoon. She is an old farmer, so Phillip shared about the Good Shepherd and the Lost Sheep. He also quoted Revelation 3:20 and John 1:12, and then spoke about her need to receive Christ.

Rev 3:20  “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
John 1:12  Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

Phillip then sat beside her and prayed the prayer at the end of the ‘Free Gift’ tract, asking her to say “Amen” if she believed and wanted God’s free gift. With many tears in her eyes, Phillip’s aunt said, “Amen” … twice!

God changed her heart in a moment.

Persevere; never give up on those you love and care for … because Jesus loves and cares much more.
