Serving Faithfully No Matter the Response

This term our church has been studying the book of Jeremiah. He was given a message from God that he was told the people wouldn’t want to hear. He was told he would suffer while bearing that message, but the Lord also promised to strengthen and embolden him for the task (Jer 1:10,18).
This month June’s ukulele band, The Joyful Noise, was invited to sing in a public event but explicitly told not to include any Christian songs. But just this week we were invited by a Christian who works in a special needs school to sing in December and make it all about Jesus because it is the one time in the year when the door is open.
It has been encouraging listening to members of our church plant being interviewed on how they came to Christ. Some came from a very open upbringing where Christianity was seen as a good influence. Others had rejected Christ as young people only to turn to Him in later years.
We disciple individuals and couples from various backgrounds in different ages and stages of life, with varying circumstances, issues and questions. So we pray, hope, speak, act and wait while the Holy Spirit works, actively continually growing them in godliness and conformity to Christ.
We ponder next steps with people, we examine our own motives and methods; are they in God’s will, and His timing? We seek and ask for wisdom and discernment from the Word, God and fellow believers. It is only in His strength that we can be faithful to Him and His calling.
We pray that you too would find God to be faithful as you trust Him not only with your own life, but with all the lives He has entrusted to you. May you be strengthened and encouraged in all your relationships knowing that God is at work reconciling all things to Himself (Col 1:19-20).
Thank you for walking together with us here in Sydney.
