CAMPAIGN UPDATE
Thank you for extending Christ’s love into the hard-to-reach places around the globe. We surpassed our fundraising target and raised $34,200 to help send 65 individuals, couples and families to the unreached. By partnering together, unified in Christ, we are breaking down the walls that our enemy tries to erect to prevent others from knowing our Saviour.
May we continue to labour amongst the lost and create inroads and pathways for Crhist to be made known to the nations!
Jaspreet* works as a waste picker and his income is $3.22 a day. His work is backbreaking, and it finds him living in an old shanty with three walls, no toilet and a plastic and bamboo roof. Should Jaspreet find himself with an infection, immediate medical treatment is not an option due to the high volume of patients at the hospital.
Jaspreet lives in an unreached country which means that not only is his physical situation difficult, but his spiritual situation is even worse. An unreached people group is a group with a distinct culture, language or social class who lack a community of Christians able to evangelise them without outside help. The only way for these people groups to hear about salvation is through an “external source”.
Reaching the Unreached Nations
It is estimated that of the 8.08 billion people alive in the world today, 3.42 billion of them live in unreached people groups with little or no access to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is 42% of the world’s population living without hope in Christ and yet less than 3% of missionary work is done among these people according to the Joshua Project!
As Navigators, God has laid the nations on our hearts. We so desire to bring the hope of Christ to someone like Jaspreet, to play a part in reaching unreached people groups. Indeed, the Lord has already provided $800,000 of the $1 million we are seeking to raise worldwide to reach these people. The money will help us send about 65 individuals, couples or families to the 23 unreached or difficult or strategic places we have identified. It will help ease the financial needs of moving, setting up home and engaging in their new community.
In Malachi 1:11a, the Lord says, “My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets.”
