Connecting People to Christ Through Stories

With most States and Territories locked down in some way due to the pandemic, we have been thinking and praying about meaningful ways to keep connecting people with Christ. Thankfully, God recently provided an opportunity to do this – through stories. “My Story, My God” is a book of short testimonials that tells of the impact that Jesus and God’s Word has had on the lives of many people connected to the Australian Defence Force and their families. It is a culmination of 18 months’ work and great partnerships.
The book itself contains a rich tapestry of stories including those from serving members, military wives and Australian public servants. Many people in these stories have been impacted through the ministry of the Navigators within the military context over many, many years. Julianne’s story as a Defence wife is the second story in the book but there are others, including military cadets in training and those discipled over the years through the Navigators.
With the recent deterioration in Afghanistan, it often feels like the world has gone mad. We look to God for hope and sustainment. People still need Christ Jesus, and at times like this we can tell of how He has impacted our lives through story.
Please pray for the ministry to female Defence partners through Solid Rock. Pray that God would give us wisdom and insight as we “pivot” again to a largely online ministry approach for a season.
Thank you so much for your partnership in the Gospel with us. It means so much.
Phil and Julianne McMaster work as a team ministering to those in training, serving Defence personnel and military spouses through the Solid Rock Ministry.
