Bula Vinaka, Friends!

We are excited to share with you the unique work of the Fijian Navigators. Like the early church, Fiji acts like a modern-day city of Corinth. Corinth stood at a crossroads of commerce and culture. People from many regions passed through its ports. In this thriving trade centre, God grew a church that became a powerful testimony throughout the Roman world.

Corinth became a source of gospel influence far beyond its borders, and the Fijian ministries are equally placed to advance the gospel across the South Pacific. With our heart aligned with God’s for the nations, this is a strategic opportunity to bless and partner with them.

A Strategic University Mission Field – USP

The University of the South Pacific (USP) is the primary tertiary institution in the Pacific. It welcomes nearly 17,000 of the best and the brightest from 12 island nations (Fiji, Cook Islands, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu), training and preparing them for leadership and service in their home countries.

Yet there are few gospel labourers among these students. We believe this presents a strategic mission opportunity, much like Paul’s ministry in the Hall of Tyrannus in Ephesus, where focused teaching led to a movement of disciples that spread throughout provinces (Acts 19).

To see this happen in the Pacific, they are asking God to raise up a couple (or singles) to lead and grow the campus ministry at USP. Their calling would include:

1. Strengthening the grassroots ministry already at USP
2. Establishing a Navigators presence on campus and other tertiary centres
3. Igniting labouring movements throughout the South Pacific as graduates return to their home nations.

This is a priority mission initiative within the Navigator Asia/Pacific region which needs prayer, people and financial resources to make it possible.

Prison Reintegration in Labasa

“I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”  — Matthew 25:36

Alongside this university focus, the Lord has opened a door in the lives of men and women affected by imprisonment in Labasa. Gabby and Ana Buli have faithfully served prisoners there, sharing the love of Christ. Through scripture reading, many of those incarcerated have renewed a relationship with Jesus and pray God will guide their future decisions and choices.

Gabby and Ana’s heart is to now see a place of reintegration established — a ‘Soul Care Centre’ where those released from incarceration can find support, discipleship, training and deep gospel community. Gabby has a 10-acre plot of land to establish a self-supporting farm to grow crops and sustain livestock to use in the centre and sell at the market. A concrete foundation is on the land which will be used to build training and accommodation facilities.

A Christ-centred reintegration ministry reaffirms each person’s value and dignity, rebuilds families and strengthens communities. When a person finds hope in Christ and support in community, the impact ripples out — strengthening local churches, villages and society.

Your Partnership Matters

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” — Mark 16:15

We believe the Lord is calling us to stand with Fiji in prayer, support and strategic partnership. Together, we hope to raise $25,000 to see students discipled, communities restored, and Christ proclaimed throughout the Pacific. Therefore, will you prayerfully consider if the Lord is leading you to partner in the advancement of the gospel in Fiji?

Your gift can:

– Resource a campus ministry leader
– Launch and sustain Navigator ministries in student discipleship and leadership development to carry the gospel further
– Support Gabby and Ana’s prison reintegration vision in Labasa, honouring Christ’s call to restoration, reconciliation and disciple-making
– Support the purchase of a 4-wheel drive vehicle to access the land and a minivan to take people to the farm

We are confident that in Fiji — a crossroad like Corinth — God desires to build His Church through faithful labourers, courageous prayer and generous giving. Please pray that God will grow a thriving community of believers who are equipped to make disciples and build His kingdom throughout the Pacific and beyond.
