Fund-Matching for Missions

Fund-Matching for Missions

We are so convinced of God’s call that we desire to join together and share the burdens of seeing the Gospel advance into every nation.

We have recently been given an amazing opportunity to do just that.  A partner in the US has pledged to match every $1USD raised for the Asia-Pacific Missions fund, with a target of $50,000USD (although if we raise more than that, they will match whatever is raised)!  This is incredibly generous of them and it clearly shows how important the advancement of the Gospel is to them!  Of course, as part of the Asia-Pacific region and family of Navigators we are very eager to be part of this opportunity!

Within the Asia-Pacific one of our key priorities is to advance the Gospel by pioneering ministries into new contexts.  We are specifically trusting God to expand our networks and pioneer new ministries in Bangladesh, Cambodia, India and the Pacific Islands in the next few years.  It is out of this ambition and trust that the Asia-Pacific Missions Fund was set up.  This Fund is designed to help get missionaries on the ground faster, with better support and greater financial security.  We want to enable those who are called, willing and eager to go, and for them not to be limited by something as common as money.

Bangladesh is the highest priority, and for good reason.  God is at work among its people and the labourers are indeed few.  Our Brother shared with us multiple stories showcasing what God has been doing.  These stories capture lives changed by the Gospel; the faith, strength, joy and willingness of new disciples to accept Christ, live for Him and share the Good News with those dear to them.  We can’t give you specific names, photos and places because this is going on the internet and that information could result in severe persecution for our brothers and sisters and their families.

One brother, who was thrown in jail for his faith, said his prayer for all of us is that the Holy Spirit will help us each to live for God’s will so that the Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom continues to advance among the Gentiles of his nation and ours, and beyond to every nation.

I am so excited to see what God is going to do next, in Bangladesh, in the Asia-Pacific region, and throughout the world!  Would you partner with us, and the global community of Navigators, in sharing the burdens of advancing the Gospel in these new contexts?  Will you pray with us, for our brothers and sisters already in these contexts and for those God is calling to go?  Pray for their faith; to be strong, growing and unshakeable.  Pray for their safety; that God would put a hedge around His people and prepare them for what comes.  Pray for courage; that no matter what, they would live and speak for Christ.

Would you also prayerfully consider giving financially to the advancement of the Gospel in Bangladesh and to this amazing fund-matching opportunity in the Asia-Pacific Missions fund?  As limited human beings we can’t be everywhere, but God is, and He is at work.  We know that not everyone is called to go, but God has already chosen those who are. And we can be a part of sending them and a part of all the work God will continue to do.  So please join us in partnering with the Asia-Pacific team, the global family of Navigators and most specifically, with Bangladesh.

Growing Capacity Project

Dear Friend,

The world remains broken, desperate and in need of redemption. Jesus is the answer and we — each one of His people — are His means to seeing the Kingdom continue to advance. We are seeing the growth of the Gospel in Australia, slowly but surely. It is hard work that requires the perseverance of our staff and labourers, and we rejoice and thank God as we see lives transformed for His glory.

This growth of the Gospel is clearly reflected in Jesus’ parable of the mustard seed in Matthew 13:31-32. In this parable we are told about the Kingdom of Heaven, ‘Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree.’ Are you excited that the worldwide movement of Christians is now over 2.2 billion? We are! As Navigators, we continue to send labourers into the harvest.

We wrote to you last year about our calling and desire to not only send out new labourers and help them get started in labouring, but that we must also care for them and support them to be successful in labouring for a lifetime. To this end we began our Growing Capacity” Project. It will provide support and care to the staff, assist in development of their ministry skills and invest in their ministry when necessary. The result under God will be more people coming to faith, being discipled and helping others to do the same, year after year after year.

Last year we were $230,000 away from our target. Today, I am very pleased to share with you, by the grace of God and many generous partners like yourself, we are only $50,000 away from the $500,000 target!

God is at work and has certainly been blessing this effort through the generosity and sacrificial giving of His people. We trust Him to provide the rest this year. Your gift to make this possible is the gift that will keep on giving because we will use the return from investing this capital to care and support God’s labourers for years to come.

Please pray about whether you would be willing to partner with us financially in taking care of God’s labourers. We are excited to see what God will do. And we look forward to continuing this labouring for a lifetime alongside you, as our partnership grows over the coming year.

Keep the Labourers Labouring

One look at the spiritual condition of our nation and it’s easy to see a picture similar to that described in Matthew 9.

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out labourers into his harvest field.”
Matthew 9:36-38

Standing in the midst of our ripened fields today two things are abundantly clear. Australia still desperately needs the love of Christ, and we need labourers to express this compassion of God to our neighbours.

Labourers … manual workers … sweating and dirty … getting tired … living among, and giving their lives for, the sheep. This is what our Navigator leaders do, we labour! We labour to extend God’s love and compassion throughout Australia through new generations of faithful, ordinary labourers. Part of this work involves equipping and encouraging those God has called, and in this regard we need your help.

Labourers are not invincible. They are normal, everyday people just like the fishermen and tax collectors called by Jesus to be his apostles. They’re weak, imperfect men and women who need help, support and encouragement to keep labouring. Therefore, I would like you to partner with us financially through our 6-week long “Keep the Labourer’s Labouring” appeal which will directly support those currently labouring.

Equipping and encouraging our labourers is not only essential to them, but also critical to achieving our ultimate goal, for the harassed and helpless to know God’s compassion.

Fundraising Dinner Give Page

We are so sorry to hear that you cannot make it to our Navigators Fundraising Dinner.  But we are so thankful and encouraged that you have still chosen to give!  We know you are rejoicing with us over all that God has done.  What an amazing God we serve!

We sincerely hope you can make it to our next Community event so we can fellowship and celebrate together in person.  And we are delighted to be deepening our partnership as we look to the future together.  Together we will be used by God to advance His Kingdom into a world that needs to know.

Thank You.

Christian giving has its foundation
in the nature of God

God pours out blessing upon blessing – health, housing, food, sunshine, rain and most graciously and sacrificially eternal life for all who believe through Jesus’ death on the cross in our place.

God is a wonderfully generous God
who calls us to be like Him,
for us to be generous.

God desires us to give to build up His kingdom for His glory. So we pray that you might be led by God to give generously to the work of His kingdom through one of our projects or one of our staff.
